Spriggs & Hollingsworth seeks to attract talented individuals who
have the capabilities to thrive in our litigation practice. We hope
that each lawyer who joins us will grow personally and professionally
during his or her period as an associate in preparation for successfully
representing our clients as a partner of the Firm.
Our practice requires an unusual breadth of writing and oral advocacy
skills at trial and appellate levels, and in ADR proceedings. Our
cases often involve complex procedural postures and complex fact
patterns (often at the cutting edge of scientific or engineering
understanding). In addition our cases often establish the legal
precedents in our various litigation specialties. Since we litigate
and try cases nationally, our lawyers must have the ability to relate
to a wide variety of judges and jurors in diverse jurisdictions.
Our national representations result in our attorneys publishing
widely and conducting seminars and professional courses on a regular
basis.
Given our philosophy to recruit talented self-starters, associates
will have greater responsibility in the litigation process earlier
in their careers than their peers handling similar matters at larger
firms. The Firm works hard to equip our associates with the
skills to handle such matters at the earliest practicable time.
The Firm hires law students for our summer program and for permanent
employment. We also hire lateral attorneys. We recruit students
and attorneys with excellent academic credentials, who will thrive
in an unstructured firm culture which rewards quality work with
greater responsibility and advancement towards partnership.
